Conférence du Professeur William Skene (UdeM)

Titre : Tuneable Electrochromes – Towards Functional Materials Capable of Property Modification.
Endroit : Pavillon J.-A.-Bombardier, salle 1035 à 11 h 30
Hôte : Professeure Antonella Badia

La conférence sera prononcée par notre collègue William Skene, du Département de chimie de l'Université de Montréal devant le groupe de recherche en physique et technologie des couches minces.

Résumé : Functional organic materials capable of color switching between different states are currently the subject of considerable interest. This is in part owing to the electrochrome’s properties that are well suited for low technological applications such as pricing display signs, curtainless windows, switchable textiles, printed packaging, and greeting cards. While significant advances have been done in terms of electrochrome preparation in recent years, processability and color tuning of these electroactive materials remain two parameters of critical importance. The effect of structural modification on color tuning, property modification, and processing will be illustrated.  Materials capable of post-preparation modification for property tailoring will also be presented.
